1) Is the organization open to the idea of a Managed Solution where the service provider owns and manages the routers for each MPLS node at on your premises?
Vendors may bid a fully managed solution at their discretion. As cost is a consideration in the selection criteria, it may be of benefit to the vendor to bid both a managed and unmanaged solution.
2) What are the current models of Cisco and Nortel products are you using?
Cisco equipment in use in the organization are PIX 501, PIX 515E, Series 2800 Router. Nortel equipment in use are Ethernet routing switch 5510, SR 1001, SR 1002, SR 1004 and SR 3120.
3) “The RFP also states that Circuit Termination will be in the telephone/ mechanical room of each site.” Is the internal conduit from the DMARC to each of the telephone/ mechanical rooms?
The internal conduit from the DMARC is in each of the telephone/ mechanical rooms.
4) For the Host location would you accept the delivery of 10M Enhanced Ethernet instead of 9M (NxT1), 12M (NxT1) or 15M (Fractional DS3) circuit?
We will accept bids using all services, but include all costs associated with using the service.
5) Can you provide the Make and Model Router at the Host? (NOTE: Please keep in mind the router at Host must be able to handle either the number of (NxT1 or Fractional DS3) circuits depending on type of delivery required.)
Refer to question #2.
6) For the Remote locations would you accept the delivery of 3M Enhanced Ethernet instead of 1536k or 3M (NxT1) circuit?
We will accept bids using all services, but include all costs associated with using the service.
7) Will Pathways Community Healthcare, Inc be providing there own Dedicated IP connection at the corporate office located in Clinton, MO?
yes
8) Will you require Class of Service (CoS) to ensure that mission critical traffic receives necessary bandwidth before less important traffic for any VoIP or Data application?
Yes
9) Will you require Multi-Cast for video conferencing or another application?
no
10) Regarding the Pathways Community Behavior Healthcare, Inc at 1450 E 10th St Rolla, MO 65401 which requires two separate 3M MPLS circuits. We normally configure the MPLS network as Fully Meshed unless requested otherwise. With that said will the disaster recovery processes circuit be required to take a diverse path (possibly diverse entrance) and to a diverse MPLS Node or can it take the same path as the first circuit and terminate on the same MPLS router?
The circuits will need to be separate.
11) The Routing Protocol options available are Static, BGP, EIGRP (Cisco CPE Only) & OSPF.
(A) Is there a specific protocol you were looking to utilize?
No, provided it is compatible with current equipment.
B) If Static is selected will you require a Default Route at the Host to allow the remotes to traverse the MPLS network to access the internet
via the Host location?*** Please keep in mind Static has 20 route maximum per port ***
N/A
12) The Point to Point circuits being requested can they be Unchannelized or must they be Channelized?
Unchannelized
13) We will install the Dmarc to the Minimum Point of Entry (not sure if the Telephone Mechanical room you describe is actually the Minimum Point of Entry). If for any reason the Telephone Room / Mechanical Room is not considered the Minimum Point of Entry will you have resources to Extend the Dmarc or will that be required by the Local LEC? (NOTE:
Please keep in mind there is a service charge from the Local LEC to extend the Dmarc if required.)
For consistency Local LEC should be used to extend the Dmarc if required.
14) Would Pathways consider an extension in the date that responses are due?
No
15) Would Pathways be interested in a competitive bid for Ethernet with Dedicated Internet Access or will you continue to utilize your existing Internet access with your current service provider? If you would like a competitive Ethernet/DIA solution, what bandwidth would you like quoted?
No
16) Page 1 states that the project is to be completed within 90 days for vendor selection. However, page 2 states that the project is contingent upon Funding Commitment Letter/Support Letter. Since vendor selection usually occurs several months ahead of the issuing of the FCDL/Support Letter, which timeline will be used?
Pathways will not be accepting bids for Dedicated Internet Access.
17) Will the contracts and billing be between each individual site or Pathways?
The date starts the day of contract signing.
18. Will the contracts and billing be between each individual site or Pathways?
